We Built floroasium Because We Needed It
Back in 2019, our founder was tracking expenses in spreadsheets. It worked until it didn't. Tax season became a nightmare, and catching overspending felt like finding needles in haystacks. So we built something better.

Software That Actually Fits Your Life
Most budget tools feel like they're designed for accountants. We wanted something your cousin could pick up without a manual. Something that doesn't judge you for that late-night pizza order but helps you see patterns you'd otherwise miss.
Our approach is pretty straightforward. We watch how people actually use the software and then we adjust. When users told us they needed better invoice tracking for side hustles, we rebuilt that entire module. When small business owners said expense categorization took too long, we added smart suggestions that learn from your habits.
floroasium isn't trying to be everything. It's trying to be the tool that makes your financial life less stressful without requiring a finance degree to operate.
What Keeps Us Focused
These aren't values we put on a poster. They're decisions we make when building features and helping customers.
Real-World Testing
Every feature gets used by our team first. If we wouldn't use it daily, we don't ship it. Our designer tracks her freelance income with floroasium. Our developer manages his rental property expenses here.
Your Data Stays Yours
We encrypt everything. We don't sell your information to advertisers. You can export your data anytime. Three clicks and you've got a CSV file with everything you need.
Honest Communication
When something breaks, we tell you. When we can't build a requested feature, we explain why. Our support team doesn't use scripts because every situation is different.

Kieran Thorvaldsson
Founder & Lead Developer
Started coding budget tools in university after bouncing three rent checks in one semester. That embarrassment turned into a side project, which turned into floroasium.
Before this, I worked at a fintech startup in Vancouver where I saw how complicated financial software gets when too many features pile up. With floroasium, we're deliberately keeping things simple. Better to do five things really well than twenty things poorly.
When I'm not working on floroasium, I'm probably hiking around Saskatchewan or trying to convince my partner that we need another houseplant.

How We Work With Customers
We're a small team serving thousands of users across Canada. That means we can't do everything, but we can stay focused on what matters.
Every Tuesday morning, we review support tickets from the previous week. Not just the bug reports, but the feature requests and the frustrated messages too. That's where our roadmap comes from. Real problems from real people trying to manage real money.
- Average response time under 4 hours during business days
- Monthly updates based on user feedback
- Free migration help if you're switching from another tool
- Video tutorials created by actual users, not marketing teams
- No hidden fees or surprise charges
We're not perfect. Sometimes features take longer than expected. Sometimes we make mistakes. But we show up, we listen, and we keep making floroasium better.
